The Bauhaus-Archiv/Museum für Gestaltung is the full name of the institution that houses the school's historical records. It also features exhibition halls showcasing the museum's permanent collection as well as special shows highlighting the work of painters like Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee.
Although the design has been considerably revised from Gropius' original plan, some of his ideas, such as the distinctive "shed roofs" intended to bring indirect natural light throughout the interior, have been included in the final building.
